Large number of visitors for the guided tour of Robert McCabe’s photography exhibition
On Saturday evening, as part of the celebration of the August full moon, a highly successful double guided tour of Robert McCabe’s photography exhibition “Greece After the War. The Years of Hope” took place at the Archaeological Museum of Patras, receiving particularly favorable comments from visitors.
The event, organized by the Ioannis & Efterpi Topalis Foundation — which is also the exhibition’s organizer — in collaboration with the National Historical Museum and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Achaia, attracted a large number of visitors who had the opportunity to tour the exhibition under the light of the full moon.
The tour was conducted by the exhibition’s curator, art historian Mimika Christodoulopoulou, who presented the work of the renowned American photographer, his artistic vision, and its historical significance in documenting post-war Greece. Also noteworthy was the presence of visual artist Giannis Papadopoulos, who spoke about his contemporary work “SOIL/TOIL, Χώμα/Μόχθος” and the dialogue it proposes with McCabe’s photographic work.
It should be noted that the exhibition includes previously unpublished photographs from Robert McCabe’s archive, with a special reference to the Rio–Antirio ferry, offering the public a unique glimpse into Greece during the years of reconstruction and hope.
The event was part of the broader program of guided tours at the Archaeological Museum of Patras for the August full moon.
